I claim to be a feminist, who likes to make feminist art, but I realized the other day: I don’t even like women !!
Not that I’m the most worldly person, or have the most experience with women, but except for a few awesome gal pals, the obligatory family members I love, and some awesome female figures I’ve met, women suck. They’re vindictive, insecure, catty bitches. They’re territorial, and they’ll stop at nothing to get ahead or have their own get ahead. And don’t even get me started on their fun emotional range.
Man, I just don’t like chicks. Seems like older women think they have a right to do whatever they want, and younger women are too wrapped up in themselves to care about anyone else. Of course, there are tons of exceptions to that statement. I’m generalizing here.
I can’t stand the need for co-dependence on a boyfriend/husband/fuck buddy either. (I guess we’re narrowing it down to heterosexual women now). The neediness drives me insane. Why do women feel they have to change themselves to adapt to what their significant other wants? Why do women think they can change their significant other? Does our society drive women to be this crazy? I just don’t get it.
And with all this glamorous imagery and skinniness and popularity contest stuff going on, I am thankful I am not a cookie cutter girl who dumbs down to be liked and who thinks the only way to win someone over is to be perfection. Fuck that. The chicks in glam mags and in romantic comedies aren’t even REAL, hello ?!
Of course, there are the blessed few who have a decent head on their shoulders and skirt all that stupid shit, and can have normal conversations and who won’t calculate behind your back. They are hard to find though because you have to weed your way through the crazies.
So all in all, I think this new self discovery is going to change what I do with my artistic direction…
