Biographical History No. 1:
Once upon a time, in a rice paddy far, far away, there once was a poor laborer who had three beautiful daughters. He knocked up his wife a fourth time, and because they were so poor (and because 4 is not a popular number in fairy tales), they sent the fourth child princess to an adoption agency, where a rich, white king & queen from the Land of the Free adopted her. She grew up in a big, Italian-tiled castle and had lots of jewels, dresses, and ponies. The princess is currently waiting to find her Prince Charming so that she can live the American Dream: get married, have 2.5 kids, have a dog named Buddy, drive a mini van, and live happily ever after, just like Everybody Else…
Biographical History No. 2:
The Angry Little Asian Girl grew up in the Midwest, as the final part of a family of six, in a ranch-style house on the top of a nice suburban hill. ALAG was a good apple in her formative years, and is, for the most part, still a good apple (although a bit angrier). ALAG was content to be complacent until she went to college and met people with Different Opinions. At college, ALAG discovered feminism, contemporary art, shady professors, no curfew, and the strangely ethnocentric ethnic clubs (“Dear Students of Color…”). Now, ALAG is as confused as ever, and ready to rage, through the medium of the blog.
